With our partner Beyond Social Services, we support children from low-income families by enabling them to attend pre-school
programmes which help to bridge the gap that exists between them and the rest of society.
We also support disabled children and children of disabled parents, so that they can continue their studies in normal schools and
tertiary institutions.
Programmes:-
The Healthy Start & Level-Up Playhouse Programmes
preparing children from disadvantaged families for Primary School Education.
The Learning Centre
helping disadvantaged children with learning difficulties learn.
Track A Life
a sponsorship programme targeted at corporations and individuals who will commit to sponsoring a disadvantaged child or a youth for 1 year.
Profiles of kids on our Education Programme:-
Counselling and mentoring is important both as a resource to our young as well as a preventative tool.
The Kids United programme run by Beyond Social Services ensures that these children utilise their time gainfully out of school.
The staff at Beyond are mentors to the many children and youth who frequent the Youth Hangout at 2 locations.
Programmes:-
Kids United
daily care & guidance for kids prone to truancy & delinquent behaviours.
With our partner Beyond Social Service, we support sports therapy programmes which are used as preventative tools to fight juvenile delinquency.
This is aimed at protecting vulnerable children and youths from negative factors.
The MILK Run is a nationwide campaign to deter juvenile delinquency and promote community awareness of youth issues.
It is jointly organised by MILK, Beyond Social Services, Central Singapore Community Development Council, and supported by the
National Youth Council and Singapore 21.
The campaign will involve a series of awareness programmes that culminates with a Youth Day Celebration on the first Sunday in July.
Children who are disadvantaged and disabled sometimes find it easier to express themselves through art or drama. We believe this tool
will grow in importance as our society develops and matures.
In Aug 2003, we initiated the HeART Worshop which brought together 300 children with special needs and volunteers.
Art camps for the children and training for teachers, social workers and volunteers are also in the pipeline.
For more information, please see our event on Art From The Heart.
