Donationa Draw Tertiary Challenge

Community involvement plays a critical role in MILK’s fund-raising efforts to make them more sustainable and meaningful for our beneficiaries. For the MILK Donation Draw we are fortunate to work with NVAC (NUSSU Volunteer Action Committee) of National University of Singapore.

Concept:

Teams of students from NUS would compete with other groups registered in the challenge, to sell maximum possible donation draw tickets. The teams would also be recognized for use of innovative methods or channels for selling the raffle tickets; as a tie-breaker scenario. It is our hope that this will instill healthy competitive spirit among the youth and provide for meaningful ways to contribute to the disadvantaged children. We aim for this to be a learning experience for them coupled with an element of service to the disadvantaged among us.

 Objective:

  • Students to be a voice for MILK and the disadvantaged children that will benefit through the funds raised from the Donation Draw.

  • For the youth to be an active partner of MILK in this initiative.

  • Create a platform for being a catalyst for a powerful message – youth helping the young.

  • Provide our students with experiences that enhance their appreciation of the values of giving and helping the less fortunate among us.

  • Provide our students opportunities for learning and enhancing their leadership and organising skills while planning and garnering resources to raise money.

Teams / Registration:

  1. Participating groups can register with 1 to a maximum of 5 students per team.
  2. Members must be students of NUS.
  3. Registration forms may be downloaded here
  4. To register –

Suggested methods of selling tickets:

  1. Street collection
  2. Through a network of acquaintances
  3. Other methods (may require approval from MILK about the ways employed)

Prizes for the winners:

  1. Token prizes: Free registration for MILK Run 2007
  2. 20 Consolation prizes of $50 vouchers for hair services, subject to a minimum of 500 tickets sold
  3. 3rd Prize: $200 worth of M1 vouchers
  4. 2nd Prize: $200 worth of M1 vouchers
  5. 1st Prize: $500 worth of M1 vouchers
